Alamo Specialty Pharmacy - Stone Oak

First time I've been there and I'm sure it won't be the last. My doctor's office sent one of my prescriptions over there and said it would be faster as I was looking at around 4 weeks, they had advised it would probably be a few days if I went over Alamo pharmacy. I stopped by to provide my insurance and ask some questions and the wonderfully nice lady at the counter took my information and said it would just be a few minutes! I was amazed, I went from expecting a wait to just a few minutes to get my prescription. I couldn't have been more pleased.

Just calling around to try to change pharmacies, I was told “the only way they can know if they take my insurance is to just send the prescriptions there and they will try to bill it and see if it take it”. Not the kind of answer I was looking for, I’m not going to blindly pull my prescriptions from another pharmacy and send it to you without knowing if we can even work together. I don’t know what kind of answer that is. Seems a bit strange honestly.

I love that they deliver all my medications and it’s always very quick. They always call when something is due for a refill which is very helpful

Esme to the rescue. I called in earlier in the week and was told my medicine was not in stock. No guidance or instruction on what to do. I called back a couple of days later on my own and got sweet, customer oriented Esme. I told her I had a coupon that I got from my doctor. She spent 15 to 20 minutes patiently on the phone with me to see if we could get the coupon to apply. It did. Any other person would have said too bad so sad, because it's happened before but Esme restored my faith in service. Thank you Esme for working there.

They were very courteous, helpful, customer-friendly and knowledgeable. Vanessa helped my wife and she was very patient, kind and concerned for my wife's situation. They did everything they said they would do and made it a very painless process. That is a very rare thing to find these days.
