I really wanted to continue supporting this small, local business. However, the women who work here are incredibly rude. They seem to enjoy making the whole experience of filling a prescription difficult and uncomfortable & are not helpful or kind. Not sure where Phil is but he should be disappointed in his staff. My family and I will not be returning here — the staff at this pharmacy will pick and choose when they want to sell you necessary medical supplies based on your prescription. You are better off at Walgreens.
This is a great old-school style drugstore. Doesn’t have the hyper-commercialism and frenzy of chain pharmacies. Pharmacists Jackie and Michele are patient and thorough in answering questions; very helpful. Very friendly staff. Have drive-thru and easy parking + offer delivery. So great to still have a pharmacy like this here in Albuquerque! The best!
One of my best recent decisions was moving my prescription to Phil’s from the eternal disappointment of a national drug store chain that rhymes with SmallBeans. Their Saturday hours make it workable even for those of us with a 9-5, and I am usually in and out of Phil’s in less than 2 minutes. It is glorious, I tell you! Sure, the store is pretty spartan and the staff isn’t particularly chatty, but if you are done — DONE — with waiting in long, slow lines and getting miserably indifferent service in an increasingly grim mega-chain atmosphere, this place is a great alternative.
After finally having my fill (so to speak) with the big pharmacy chain (WG's), I decided to move my prescriptions to Phil's as a couple of people recommended them. I was looking forward to doing business with a smaller and locally owned pharmacy. I'm mystified by the comments saying how nice the staff is, and how the staff remember and greet their customers. This certainly wasn't my experience. What I encountered were three to four women behind the counter, all of them looking like they were sucking lemons. Look, I know being a pharmacist is a tough gig, and I do know that at least two of those were pharmacists. I was in and out frequently to pick up prescriptions, so I'd always go in because there usually were no customers and I thought it good to try to build a face to face relationship. After I'd been in there many times, I thought for sure I'd be familiar to them because it's not like they have 30 people in line. In fact, I never saw another customer in there over the past 8 months. Kinda weird and the place has a bad vibe. Phil's Pills is affiliated with the Nimble Rx app, so ordering things was easy and my stuff would be filled quickly. But then, I finally realized the reason for my frequent visits. One of my doctors prescribes a 90 day supply of a few things I am taking. Phil's, instead of filling my prescription for a whole 90 days worth, as per the prescription from my doctor, they were filling all the drugs one month at a time. The last time I was in, I asked if my prescriptions could be filled for a 90 supply, as written. I was told that they "couldn't" do that because my insurance wouldn't let them. Now Phil's pills no longer fills my pills, and I have moved my business elsewhere. And voila! My pills are now being filled AS WRITTEN BY MY PHYSICIAN and no issues with my insurance.
Phil's is the best! They know who I am when I walk through the door and call me by name. I know of my health problems and they're very considerate and kind.
