Porter's Compounding Pharmacy

This pharmacy is a god-send for my community! Everyone there is incredibly kind and caring, and the process of getting a script filled is highly efficient. The pharmacist spent time explaining my new medication and how I should administer it, and he counseled me about possible interactions and even dietary recommendations to help me get the most benefit from the meds. I could never afford the name brand version of a medication I need, so this pharmacy compounds it for me at less than half the retail price! My physician recommended I use Porters because she said they are trustworthy and use only quality components to compound their product. Can’t recommend them highly enough!!

And it gets worse. On 12/5/2024 they no longer handle retail prescriptions and transferred my prescriptions to another pharmacy. No notice, no nothing. Called the new pharmacy and they need an original prescription send to them and now its too late on a Friday for the doctors office to send it. I've never heard of a business operating this way. Shame on Porter's for doing this. I wouldn't go there for anything ever again. I've gone to them for 12 years and they were an awesome, friendly locally owned pharmacy. Now, since they changed their computer system months ago, they have not received my prescriptions from my doctor 3 of the last 5 months, which isn't my doctors office's issue. Heading into a holiday weekend, even though I played phone tag with both the pharmacy and doctors office yesterday, I will be out of a very important prescription. No one seems to care anymore. I really like going here, now I'll only go there because my doctor's office compels me to do so.

Wow. Never used a compounding pharmacy before and I am really impressed with their speed of communication and customer service. Cant recommend enough.

Porter’s compounds a steroid for our cat. My vet called in the prescription, and a staff member called me the same day to make sure all the details were correct and to get shipping information. They were really helpful and told me how to use the medication. Refilling the prescription was easy. I had a week’s worth of medication when I called for a refill; I expected the process to take a few business days or longer since it was the day after a holiday, but I called on a Tuesday and I received it the following Thursday. I was really impressed that they were so fast. I’d recommend Porter’s to anyone who needs a quick and friendly compounding pharmacy.

I can not say enough good things about my experience with this Pharmacy. They went over and above to try and get my prescription from my old pharmacy and doctor. They took the time on multiple occasions to call the doctor, my pharmacy in Ohio and me to get them correct. They also worked diligently to have them done in time for my husband to pickup and bring to me in Florida. It has not been easy to find a hormone compounding pharmacy in Pittsburgh. It’s a shame PA doesn’t help these small private pharmacies stay in business. Thank you Porters for taking the time and the effort. Everyone we spoke to was pleasant and worked hard for us. Highly recommend them. I don’t usually take the time to write a review but this one was more than deserved.
