I’ve been using Professional Pharmacy for years — I started going there when I lived in the area and never switched because I genuinely prefer supporting small, local businesses instead of the big chains. I’ve never had an issue… until last week. We don’t live close anymore, so whenever I’m in town I stop by and pick up all my prescriptions for the month. This time, I was busy with work and asked my husband to stop by for me since he’d be passing through. Two of my prescriptions couldn’t be filled until the next day — no problem, that happens. But when my husband picked up the two that were ready, I asked him to double-check about the other two (which happened to be my ADHD medications). And here’s where the issue began. My husband works a blue-collar job and just so happens to also be covered in tattoos. Mind you, it’s 2025. The minute they saw him asking about “controlled” prescriptions, they judged him. Instead of treating him like any other customer, they looked at him and made assumptions. Fast forward to yesterday: I stopped in myself to pick up the remaining prescriptions, and suddenly I was told they can’t fill my prescriptions anymore because of a “policy” — apparently, because I also get something filled at a different pharmacy. Mind you, I’ve been using them for years with no problem, and now suddenly there’s a policy? I looked into it and found no such rule requiring patients to use only one pharmacy. Let’s be honest — this wasn’t about policy. This was about judgment and prejudice. They saw a man covered in tattoos asking about ADHD medication and assumed the worst, so they decided to look me up in the system. I’m not sure how all of that works. That’s not only unprofessional, it’s discriminatory and deeply disappointing. Note to the staff: Learn not to judge a book by its cover — especially when you work in healthcare. Compassion and fairness should never depend on appearances.

I don’t know about human medications, but this place is a godsend if you have a difficult to fill pet prescription. Our senior cat was having urinary tract issues. We’re in Harford County, where two pharmacies were unable to obtain one of her prescriptions in a liquid form. (There is just no getting a pill into that girl; she is old but feisty.). Our vet asked if we’d be willing to go further afield to get the Rx in liquid form and suggested Professional Pharmacy in Rosedale. They were extremely helpful and had the medication ready for us by the end of the day. They were also able to make it tuna flavored, which made it much easier to get the meds into our girl.

I was extremely pleased with the visit I received yesterday for my bedbound husband to receive his covid shot. Kudos to the team of Danielle, Bailey and Rose. I look forward to their next visit.

I just want to say they have been absolutely amazing with working with me on a personal compound medicine that I require. I have a lot of sensitivity issues and they've been amazing at communicating with me to try and figure out an alternative base that can work for me. Medicine can be so stressful and complicated sometimes, but it helps to have people who actually care about your wellbeing. I would highly recommend them!

Professional Pharmacy is like a pharmacies used to be before the big corporations. They remember your name, they are fast and very efficient. If you have a concern or question they will spend any amount of time to explain things to you. Mark is great and so are the other pharmacists. One day I locked my keys in my car and one of the male employees helped me. Glad to see some businesses still maintain old fashioned customer service
