I was a patient here for years after my provider decided to move her practice here. More often than not I have had issues with the front desk and most recently with my provider. Multiple times I have had to remind my dr about things that were either left off my plan or ignored ( I requested they don't run a specific blood test and she kept ordering it, I had to remind her about a probiotic we discussed during my expensive appointment which wasn't included in my subsequent treatment plan, and at one point my bloodwork for mycotoxins was lost resulting in me having to draw it again). I know this year has been off to an intense start but distracted care shouldn't come at these prices. I also noticed they make a profit on all supplements ordered through Fullscript. Most integrative drs pass at least 10% off to patients but they take the full 25% commission. Whenever I would have blood drawn their nurses would have trouble finding my veins and I always experienced significant bruising. Aside from the distracted care, I don't trust the mycotoxin protocol and dr whose protocol they use ( lost his medical license in Texas and works with a lab that isn't third party tested). I felt significantly worse taking the drug prescribed to me here, to the point where I went to urgent care and the dr told me that the drug was dangerous, that I didn't need to be on it, and to report Minneapolis Integrative Medicine to the state. I also don't care for MIM's social media marketing. When they opened their new office they promoted online that they had a VIP influencer opening party. Advertising something like that while excluding loyal clients is tacky. Going after superficial med spa business and influencer clientele rather than actually trying to help people with chronic illness is not my vibe. To echo a previous review, I found Ashley cold and hostile at times like she was doing me a favor when problems would happen. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone truly interested in thoughtful and grounded care.
MIMC has been a great fit for me as a mom of two. They were especially helpful in helping me find what I needed to feel more myself postpartum after my first. Their providers are excellent, very thoughtful in their approach and passionate about serving their patients. Highly recommend!
Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center is nothing short of spectacular! From the smiling, welcoming faces when you first walk in the door to every nurse and provider you deal with. The founder is incredibly personable and kind. This entire staff truly cares about you as a human. It’s what all medical care and costumer facing companies should be. I’ve dealt with ailments for 6 years at least monthly if not more often and have been to many traditional Drs of multiple specialties. They all run the same test and say you’re fine but I continued to feel awful. I started going to Minneapolis Integrated Medicine Center in Early Nov. and am already feeling light years better. They’re intelligent, kind and thoughtful. They truly care about your wellbeing. Thank you to the entire staff! Chad Wald
I've been going to MIMC for many years, and genuinely look forward to all of my appointments there! Whether it's for an IV infusion or a check-in with Dr. Crystalin, I always walk away feeling better than when I came in. This is very different from your typical doctor's appointment - not only do you actually get time and attention from your provider, you also are empowered to be involved in your own health and wellness journey. And you'll get far more than just basic testing or treating each individual symptom as a separate 'problem;' instead you'll look at how everything is connected and dig deeper to uncover root causes. I spent years in the 'conventional' medical system being sent from Dr. to Dr. and being told there was nothing wrong, that my labs were normal, and that I was just depressed. It wasn't until I found Dr. Crystalin that I felt like someone was actually listening to my story, taking me seriously, and was 100% on board to help me figure out what was going on and put steps in place to start feeling better. As a personal trainer and nutrition coach, I have learned more from my time spent at MIMC than any course or continuing education I've done! I am so much more knowledgeable about how my body works and what I can do to feel and perform my best, both now and in the long-term. I am always telling my friends and family members to get themselves to MIMC, I truly believe everyone could benefit from this kind of healthcare!
I am going to break this review into two parts.... Part 1. Initial Visit: (2 out of 5 stars) I live in Wayzata I wanted to find a practice that focused on cutting edge medicine and therapies. Things like peptides, GLP-1's, IV therapy, etc.... All the cool stuff that is available these days. MIMC is also in Wayzata and according to their website, which looks nice, they provide this type of holistic and modern therapies. Perfect! Right? Well.....not really. I show up for meeting after doing a ton of onboarding paperwork and have a good long discussion about health goals and what I am looking to accomplish. I am 40ish :) and generally in pretty good shape. Work out daily. Not overweight. No specific problems we need to address aside from just making sure I am doing everything I can do be healthy. I will say that I am currently doing a specific hormone therapy through another provider that I wanted to transfer to MIMC and continue there (this will come up later). So I have a long discussion with the nurse and the plan of attack is to do a bunch of labs and see where we are at so we can start making recommendations on the super cool therapies that are supposedly available. When labs are done we do our next appointment via zoom. Nurse takes me through all of the results and there are a few things that are out of range. I wont go through all of the details, but lets just say that the recommendations were quite, what's the right word for it.....un-inspired? Super lazy? lol. For example, one of my cholesterols was high and the solution was to take fish oil. I mean....sure thats fine, but I paid you like $400 to tell me to take fish oil? The rest of the ideas were similarly booooring. Bottom line: If you are looking for general wellness ideas, just simply go to LabCorp and get your blood drawn, then post the results into ChatGPT and it will absolutely give you a list of ideas that would be just as good. Part 2: (-10 out of 5 stars) So a few weeks after the lab results consult it was time to get a refill for my hormone therapy meds. I called MIMC and evidently the nurse who I had been working with had since left. Ok, no worries. It wasn't like I was blown away with her amazing ideas so....all good. Buuuuuut it turns out that the first nurse did not properly notate our meeting notes enough to be able to start the hormone therapy at MIMC. Keep in mind, we did do all of the very specific bloodwork that would be required to start this therapy. So....again, no big deal. The hard work is done. Bloodwork is all good and all we need to do is get a few more details (that the first nurse should have gotten in the first meeting) and we are ready to rock and roll, right? They tell me that in order to get the new refill green lit they need me to have one more meeting with a nurse for like literally 15-30 min to get a few extra details and then good to go. Fine....inconvenient, but fine. The problem is...they want to charge me for this extra meeting. I told them that I totally understand the need for additional information if they did not have everything they needed. BUT I obviously don't think I should be charged for another meeting considering it's not my fault the first nurse didn't get what she needed from me. Unfortunately, they dug in hard! I run a business as well. A bigger one....not that size matters....and I can't imagine asking a client to pay extra to cover for a mistake that we made. Bonkers! Or better said....incompetent. Ashley made the executive decision to refuse to cover the cost of whatever a 30 minute appointment costs. In exchange for that decision, she lost thousands, maybe tens of thousands of future revenue that we would have likely paid to this place in the coming years.... + a bad google review..... .....not a good trade. Response to MIMC: Not true. I know this because I wondered that as well. I specifically asked her if it was typical to need a follow up meeting and she emphatically said it was not.
